OUR CLIENT’S REQUIREMENTS
Robin’Finance ambition is to :
- Develop an innovative tool supported with artificial intelligence (AI), friendly and accessible to any user ;
- Help user select the best product to fit their needs and condition thanks to a profiling engine.
- Offer a wide and comprehensive offer : including conventional as well as specific investment products. For instance proximity investment funds*, which allow financing of local businesses enterprises, buying shares in forests, or in beef cows herd, etc.
*Proximity investment funds (or fonds d’investissement de proximité) are a specific French legal category of funds aimed at revitalizing SMEs.
The ultimate goal is to give private individuals access to savings products that, until now, were exclusively available to a few.
USER PERSONAS AND USER JOURNEYS
Clever Age conducted a first scoping phase focused on defining user personas (profiles of future users) and designing related user journeys.
Technical architecture and project backlog were also defined during this phase.
FUNCTIONAL AND TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE PLATFORM
Robin’Finance then asked Clever Age to develop its platform mieuxplacer.com, both functionally and technically. Through a co-creation phase, we designed the different steps of the user journeys. At the same time, we were able to confirm the (technical) feasibility of the feature to implement. The overall experience was then validated by end users through user acceptancetest on a prototype of the future website.
One of the main challenge was to offer a smooth on-boarding to users , despite the large amount of information legally required to contract financial services (KYC). The format of the form make user feel like they are having a conversation rather than completing a classic administrative template. As a result,As a result, it generated higher conversion rates.
FLEXIBILITY, SCALABILITY AND REVERSIBILITY
The platform built by Clever Age is flexible and configurable (without having to touch at the code). In other words, Robin’Finance may adjust and adapt it easily to its users’ needs. The technologies used (Symfony™, Drupal 8, React, etc.) are well known and accessible which ensure continuity and reversibility of the platform.
The technical architecture was built using different independent services in order to ensure the platform’s scalability. One of the challenges of building the technical architecture lied in interconnecting these different blocks, which communicate through APIs. Another challenge was communication with the platform mieuxplacer.com powered by AI.
AGILE METHODOLOGY FOR A TIGHT SCHEDULE
The platform was built in less than 4 months and released at the end of September 2017. Tight schedule required the teams to carry out tasks simultaneously (design, integration, development, delivery).
This project was delivered partially following Agile methodology, which allowed us to make the necessary changes throughout the different phases of development until go live.
