Groupe BPCE pursues a full range of banking and insurance activities, working through its two major Banque Populaire and Caisse d’Épargne cooperative banking networks and through its different subsidiaries. It is the 2nd largest banking group in France, serving a total of 31 million customers. The group hires no less than 106,500 employees and operates 7,800 branches.

An application store that measures up to the group’s ambitions

Groupe BPCE wanted to create a mobile app store to federate users around a common repository for all branches. Inside a group as robust as BPCE, there is a particularly large number of internal applications. The aim of this portal was to raise employees awareness toward of the group’s mobile application portfolio and to facilitate access and download of those.

Developing the store

The project was carried out following the agile methodology to build a usable product quickly and get user feedback as early in the process as possible. This allowed to improve the tool gradually at every Sprint.

The agile method made it possible to overcome issues by selecting the best possible option at each stage, and thus develop a comprehensive product that meets the needs of all users.

One common catalog for all group entities

Store 89C3 offers over a hundred applications such as training modules, login portals to the group’s social network, and even a carpooling app. The portal makes it possible to centralize applications developed within separate entities and make them available to all group employees.

The result

Employees are fully satisfied with this new tool that addresses an essential business need: access to a catalog of all existing applications within the group.

In addition, the Store is considered particularly user-friendly thanks to its fast execution and ease of use. Launched in December 2017, Store 89c3 has more than 3,600 users at the end of March 2018. This is only the beginning as the next ambition is to deploy it to the entire Group.
